5Rhythms OR Chakra Vocal Toning

in the Selah Center:

5 Rhythms with Azi Amanzadeh

5Rhythms® is a dynamic movement practice – a practice of being in your body – that ignites creativity, connection, and community. 5Rhythms transcends dance. The movement is the medicine, the meditation and the metaphor.

While a seemingly simple process, 5Rhythms facilitates deep and unending explorations, moving us beyond self-imposed limitations and isolation into new depths of creativity and connection. By putting our bodies in motion and our feet in the beat, we empty ourselves and rediscover the essence of who we are.

The 5Rhythms® – Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, Stillness – are states of Being. They are a map to everywhere we want to go, on all planes of consciousness – inner and outer, forward and back, physical, emotional and intellectual.

They are markers on the way back to a real self, a vulnerable, wild passionate, instinctive self.

5Rhythms is a philosophy, perspective, performance art and a dynamic movement practice rooted in the principle that if you put the psyche in motion it will heal itself. Movement is both the medicine and the metaphor, reaching across all languages, cultures and age groups to transform suffering into art, art into awareness, and awareness into action. Where the 5Rhythms are practiced, a community is born to dance, to sweat, to change, to support, and to provide a safe place for each of us to shatter the ego's hold and awaken the juicy, unpredictable, fascinating, edge-walking, rock star part of ourselves that yearns to be free. ---

The Symphony of Serenity OR Dances of Universal Peace

in the Selah Center:

The Symphony of Serenity with Kennedy Oneself

SOLD OUT!

A profoundly potent symphonic orchestration of acoustic vibration that guides us to the stillness that exists beyond all thoughts.

These sound journeys invite you to relax and simply be. Listening without any effort of any kind. Not even trying to clear the mind of thoughts...Simply becoming a witness to all that rises and falls. When you can listen with conscious alertness, just noticing the melodically pulsating conversation, a deeper serenity arrives with a blanket of sound.

At ease, we begin to notice the small gaps of stillness between thoughts. Gradually, we find it natural to reside in this immensely peaceful silence. We are simply creating the right circumstances for peace to make a home in us, for meditation to happen to us. These harmonic vibrations are designed to become a foundation for our journey towards blissfulness.

This sound healing is like nothing you've ever experienced. Kennedy OneSelf weaves vibrations so fluidly people often imagine three musicians(Or that he has 6 arms). Deeply witnessing resonating vibrations of Didgeridoos, crystal & tibetan singing bowls, bells, Gongs, Flutes(Chinese, Indian, American, Harmony, Drone), Handpan, Asian Harp(Guzheng), Harmonium, Kalimba, Unity Harp and more, the chattering mind slowly surrenders to stillness, and we bask in the glorious moment that is now.

Dances of Universal Peace

Spiritual practice brings us face to face with Life and Truth, prior to the concepts and beliefs of the person, opening to our true nature - authentic, unguarded, beyond form and imbued with the spaciousness and love that connects all.

The Dances of Universal Peace and Walking Concentrations are spiritual practice in motion. Drawing on the sacred phrases, scripture, and poetry of the many spiritual traditions of the earth, the Dances blend chant, live music and evocative movement into a living experience of unity, peace and integration. This taste of our true nature - as Universal Peace - opens to the possibility of a deep spiritual revolution within the person.

Taize

Taizé Chant is a form of contemporary Christian meditative singing that was developed by an ecumenical community of brothers at Taizé, France in the 20th century. The chants are simple refrains that put prayers, and sacred texts from the tradition to melody.  Young people from all over the world travel to the Taizé Community throughout the year, attracted to this beautiful, vibrant contemplative prayer and the experience of reflecting and sharing together.  In this session we will briefly introduce the history of the Taize community, learn a few songs and then experience together a Taizé prayer. A Taize prayer consists of song, sacred reading, intercession and a short silence.

FAQ

Whoa, this is really different! What’s happening?

We’re glad you asked! For several years, one of our most consistent pieces of feedback has been that workshops are too crowded, to the point of negatively impacting the space for facilitators and participants. So, we’ve adjusted the setup to improve the experience for everyone.

Our commitment to charity is why the donation minimum is there. Our commitment to community is why the donation minimum is so low. We want the workshops to be as accessible as possible.

Why are y’all selling tickets this year?
That’s an understandable question. The answer is that we’re not, actually :)

Workshop registration requires a donation to The Learning Tea, our charity partner. All donations go to the camp; your donations directly support its mission.

Your donation is not a ticket. ChantLanta organizers are all volunteers. Workshop facilitators are all donating their time and effort.

Read more about this change here.

Do I have to register? Can I just show up on the day of the workshop?

We expect these workshops to reach capacity before the weekend of ChantLanta. Once they are full, we will close the registration. If you’d like to attend a workshop, we strongly recommend that you register in advance.

Reserved my space! Do I need to bring physical proof of donation?
You'll receive an email confirmation from Squareup; your name will be added to our list of attendees. On March 9th, we'll use that list to check people in for each workshop.

Is the venue ADA complaint?

Yes! There is a ramp right by the entrance. The building has 1 elevator inside. Workshops are on the 1st and 2nd floors.

I have more questions. Who can help?

Karen Dorfmann, Workshop Coordinator: workshops@chantlanta.org

Ian Boccio, Director: ian@chantlanta.org
